Definition: Echo, or Delay, does exactly what you think it does--it adds an echo effect to the sound. Be sure to differentiate echo and reverb, where echo involves the sound actually repeating, with each repetition decreasing in volume until the sound is completely silent. Reverb, on the other hand, is the effect that gives a sound a spatial quality and has it reflect an area with a given room size amongst other properties.
- Select the audio source you wish to apply the echo effect to .
- Select Component -> Audio -> Audio Echo Filter. Note that like the high pass filter, the echo filter does not show up as a parameter in the Listener Line Graph. The filter can still be controlled via scripting.
- There are four parameters to the echo filter:
- Delay - The amount of time between each repetition (between 10 and 5000).
- Decay Ratio - The amount each repetition decreases in volume (between 0.0 and 1.0).
- Wet Mix - The volume of the echo itself (between 0.0 and 1.0).
- Dry Mix - The volume of the original sound (between 0.0 and (1.0).
