Programmer Book Recommendations
Often, programmers are asked about design patterns in interviews. The classic book is Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software by Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson, and John Vlissides. It is "classic" because it is OLD: published by Addison-Wesley in 1995. A newer book that happens to now be in the ETC library is Head First Design Patterns by Eric Freeman and Elisabeth Freeman with Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates.
While discussing what else might be discussed in interviews, this book was recommended: Cracking the Coding Interview: 150 Programming Questions and Solutions by Gayle Laakmann McDowell.
Enjoy a break from programming and read a good book to keep yourself fresh!
